Blog to Another Baby

Same song, second verse. My second pregnancy resulted in a boy. I still need somewhere to write, and this blog is for thoughts, feelings, and observations regarding DS2.

Why Should You Cleanse? The Importance of Cleansing for Great Health -- Hmmm. This makes sense and sounds like a good idea. After I finish with a special eating plan that I am doing during Lent I may try a cleanse.

Car Seat Misconceptions -- I learned something reading this article, in Front vs. Back babies should be left in the rear facing position as long as their seat allows or their head is within 1 inch of the top of the seat, whichever comes first. I am guessing the DS1 could still be rear facing, but I'm not going to change him back. We just bought a convertible car seat for DS2 (because his infant seat is getting passed to a new cousin that is due next month). Perhaps we will keep DS2 rear facing past his first birthday.

Formula

DS2 had his first taste of formula yesterday. It was the first time he had anything besides my milk. My supply is down and daycare ran out of milk. Friday they ran out, too, but called me and I left work about 4 to feed him. Monday morning I mentioned that we might have to use formula in the afternoon, so they didn't call me. If I had left work right at 5, I probably would have gotten there in time, but I wouldn't have had much for him since I didn't finish pumping until about 4:45. I got there about 5:25 and he was drinking. I didn't think anything of it, until the teacher asked if I wanted to take the extra home. I said to save it for today, and she said that it was formula. I was upset that they hadn't called first, but I had said in the morning that it would be okay if necessary later in the day. Anyway, I was very sad. I told DH that I needed lots of TLC last night. I pumped once in the middle of the night and DS2 had enough milk to make it until the middle of this afternoon. I just got off the phone, and they are out of milk. I told them to go ahead with the formula, and the milk that I have from this afternoon's pumps will be for tomorrow morning. I'm not ready for this to be a regular occurrance, but I'm not sure what else I can do at this point to get my supply back up.
